2017 Ford F-350 King Ranch: Changes and Improvements
Ford has done their homework. They are well aware of the demand for such super duty trucks and in designing their F series of a tough tow truck, they plan to make a difference.
The launch of 2017 Ford F-350 King Ranch as well as its other super duty series of trucks, all industry requirements would be met. Above all, they will set a new trend, which will probably continue for some time. Its automakers stated this during its testing phase and, to be honest, it does seem so. No precise information is available yet, but a number of things got revealed during its prototype testing.
Its body style was found to be a full-size heavy duty, and the interesting thing found was its usage of lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum. To the surprise of many, this was one of the biggest amazement from the 2017 Ford F-350 King Ranch model, but yet it seemed quite aggressive and power packed.
The pickup also seemed to be larger which indicated the fact that the cabin would have more space and hence more comfort. The comfort is further improved with a number of infotainment and entertainment features, as well as the ultra-cosy seats.
Engine Options, Transmission, and Towing
The 2017 Ford F-350 King Ranch will get three engine options. A 6.2-liter gasoline V8 powertrain will power the base model. It will deliver 411 HP and 434 lb-ft. respectively. The topping trim will use a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of twist. Of course, the carmaker won’t skip the chance to add one oil-burner, which will definitely use a 6.7-liter single stroke diesel powered engine that’s capable of producing 440 HP and torque- 925 lb-ft. All options will me mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Towing capacity is not known as of now. Some sources reveal that its maximum gooseneck towing capacity would be around 32,500 pounds while its conventional towing claims to be 21,000 pounds. Its payload claims to be around 7630 lbs.
The truck also gets the upgraded brakes shocks, stabilizers bar, and bushing, upgraded suspension, and steering, as well as stronger and bigger axles and larger brakes.
Estimated Price and Arrival
The completely redesigned 2017 Ford F-350 King Ranch will arrive this fall with the price tag that will be around $58,000.
I built my wall-climbing, earth-moving, stump-pulling (literally) pickups, and invariably built a mini-pickup to do the vast majority of my Texas-distanced (literally) highway-running and city rush-hour rat-racing.
I can do all the really important things like cover Texas distances, thread traffic and snatch parking spots my bigger rigs would not fit into.. I can be in the store or sitting down to eat while the jacked-ups and duallies are still trying to line up on a parking space…or miles behind me filling up again. My wallet loves passing gas stations..
My bigger rig stays home, because I know no one gives a (thought) to the size of my wheels, how high it is or how many drive axles I have…unless they’re looking to sue someone who looks like they have money (and you were wondering why people drive the way they do around your rolling (male personality/wealth) display).
I’ve never had the urge to buy my manhood at a car lot or parts store.
I do have the urge to make my next mini-truck a front-wheel drive because I can’t argue with physics. 35-40 mpg at 65-70 mph looks really good when making the daily 90-mile round trip to work or the Houston-Dallas run (2016 Honda CR-V).
Try that at 15 mpg with today’s gas prices.
Ford has a Focus-based pickup in South America. How soon can it get here and will my dirt bike fit in the bed?
