Windy City has hosted a number of new models, yet we saw some already familiar cars here. Ram has introduced the all-new Copper Sport trim that features really handsome exterior. However, they also brought the 2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition at this year Chicago Auto Show. Basically, the truck is completely new, but we saw a familiar, or even almost identical treatment last year when the car manufacturer introduced the Ram 1500 Night. From our point of view, this isn’t the coolest truck design ever, but it still brings a certain dose of excitement.
2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition: Engine Options
The 2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition is offered with both, 2500 and 3500 models. On the other hand, the choice of the cab is reduced on just one. There will be just the crew cab model, but on the other hand, you will be able to choose between three engine options. The Night Edition will be paired with a 5.7-liter V-8 that produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, as well as with a 6.4-liter HEMI. The bigger gasoline option currently produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, yet it might come boosted a little bit.
The carmaker hasn’t forgotten about its diesel fans either. Yes, the 2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition will have a Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel inline-six that will be able of delivering up to 370 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque. All three options will be available in rear- and four-wheel drive.
Styling wise, the 2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition won’t differ too much from the regular 2500 and 3500 models. Okay, there are certain differences inside and out, but the changes are pretty small. Up front, the pickup truck sports all-black grille, while the rear stays unchanged. There are also blacked-out wheels and dark badging on sides.
Inside, the new trim adds several new touches inside. There are high-quality bucket seats that get cloth inserts and power adjustable option. The Night trim also adds standard power-adjustable pedals and automatic dual-zone climate control.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2017 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition will be priced from $46,840. It should hit the showrooms in the next several months.
