Do you remember the Titan Warrior concept from the 2016 Detroit auto show? Well, guess what? The high-performance pickup truck is getting ready to enter into the production. More precisely, Nissan’s high-performance division Nismo will be in charge of building the amazing 2018 Nissan Titan Warrior. However, don’t get confused with this information, as the upcoming pickup truck won’t be just some fancy schmancy pickup with a powerful engine, but a real off-roader, and a worthy rival of the Ford Raptor.
2018 Nissan Titan Warrior: Styling Details
Unlike the concept version that was heavily based on the heavy-duty Titan XD, the 2018 Nissan Titan Warrior (or Titan Nismo) is going to be a light-weight truck. The topper will feature lightweight body panels, most likely carbon fiber, and a special off-road suspension system. On the other hand, the exterior design won’t differ from the concept, or at least we think so. Okay, the car manufacturer might add a bit more air intakes to cool of a mighty engine, but everything else stays untouched. Yes, the truck will keep the amazing details such as 37-inch off-road tires on 18×9.5-inch wheels, as well as LED rail lighting.
Under the Hood
The biggest change will happen under the hood. In contrast to the concept that was paired with a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine, the 2018 Nissan Titan Warrior will use something heavier. What’s more important, it won’t be the oil-burner at all. According to the latest rumors, the flagship pickup truck will get a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 which goes by the code name VR38DETT. The engine delivers up to 545 horsepower and 463 pound-feet of twist. Compared to this, Raptor’s 450 ponies seem like a joke, but we will see whether this will actually happen, or the truck keeps its diesel mill from the concept. In any case, the high-performance pickup truck will use an all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Price and Release Date
The car manufacturer hasn’t said anything about the price or release date of the 2018 Nissan Titan Warrior. However, we are pretty sure it’s going to be introduced early next year, most likely at the 2018 Detroit auto show. The starting price should be pretty similar to Raptor’s which is a little bit over $50,000.
