2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 – Design Changes
The 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 gets minimal design changes. The truck will be sold in Extended and crew-cab setups. You get quite a few customization choices. Exterior color choices are Kinetic Blue Metallic, Summit White, Steel Metallic, Red Hot, Deepwood Green Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Cajun Red Tintcoat and Graphite Metallic.
There are two special editions which are based on the 2019 Z71. These are the Midnight edition and Centennial edition. The latter brings Spray-in bedliner, Centennial Blue exterior, Centennial Edition badging, 18-inch wheels and Chrome tipped mirror caps, door handles and tow hooks. In the Colorado Z71 Midnight Edition, you get Black 17-inch wheels, Goodyear DuraTrac tires, and all-black appearance. The front grille, all-weather floor liners are there too.
The cabin of 2019 Colorado Z71 is not much lavish but it is built with utility and convenience in mind. The seats are large and you get quite a number of in-cabin storage options. You get cloth upholstery and some plastic parts are there too. It is nowhere near what you get in GMC Canyon Denali or the new Honda Ridgeline.
2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 – Engine Specs
The 2019 Colorado comes with three engine options. The base one will be inline-four petrol engine matched with the manual transmission. The bigger petrol engine will be V-6 with its 308 horsepower. This mill will be matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Only diesel option will be 2.8-liter turbo-diesel Duramax engine. It will probably be matched with a six-speed gearbox. Its outputs will be 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque which will allow new Z71 to tow up to 7,700 pounds.
The new Z71 gets plenty of features and on safety front- most of the desired features are covered. Safety wise it gets Teen Driver mode, airbags, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, Daytime Running Lamps, traction control, rear-vision camera, tire pressure monitoring, and trailer sway control.
Features include Fog lamps, Halogen projector-beam headlamps, alloy wheels, keyless entry and the new version of GM’s MyLink infotainment setup. This comes with support for 4G LTE Wi-Fi, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth and it is easy to use too. You also get a rearview auto-dimming mirror, Remote start, heated front seats etc.
Price and Availability
Bearing in mind that the new model should arrive with only some minor changes, its release date could be scheduled in a few months. The price for 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 will be close to $37,000 but it could go even higher if some additional features are included.
The 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 is a nice mid-sized truck with excellent off-road prowess and decent features. The engine choices are superb and ride quality is impressive. You get good safety features and amenities are also good. You get two special edition packages which add more style. The cabin may not be lavish but it is spacious and utilitarian. Overall, the truck offers a lot for the price.
