Ford F-150 is among the popular and iconic vehicles in pickup segment- beyond doubt. While the name was introduced by the US car giant in 1975, its root can be traced back to the year 1917. Since then the company has been instrumental in developing mass demand for pickup trucks. After the World War II, Ford resumed automobile production and unveiled the F1, a precursor to the present day F-150. The truck was renamed F-150 in the 1950s and in 1959 it got 4WD. The F-150 lineup was introduced in 1975 and since then the trucks sold under this series have ruled the roads and various terrains both in and outside the USA. A lot of variants have been introduced since that time to the lineup to suit varying user needs.
In the last few years, the Ford F-150 lineup has enjoyed good sales- despite steep competition from the rivals like RAM 1500 series and Chevy Silverado 1500 series.
